Venue 1696 @ Rice Hope is located on the banks of the Cooper River with arguably the best sunsets in all of Charleston. A 285 acre rice field as a venue back drop reflects the sunset, sky and trees to make for a breather taking ceremony location. There is over 40 grand Live Oaks on ten acres with 600 ft of river front, a 1840s Camilla and Azalea garden designed by Luterell Brigs and a 7000 square foot Antebellum home. Rice Hope dates back to 1696 thus the Venue 1696 @ Rice Hope.

HOW DO WEDDINGS AND RECEPTIONS WORK AT VENUE 1696 ?~ Guest can enter through the front door of Rice Hope, go through the foyer to the back patio and down the garden to the waterfront. The waterfront event area has ample space for weddings up to 200. Smaller wedding can chose the garden or front circle as an alternative site. The event space is all outside. A tent is highly recommended as well as a bathroom trailer. Also included in the event is a living room for the immediate wedding party, a room for the grooms men with a porch, a small bathroom, and a bridal changing room.

This illustrious venue showcases a stunning home built in the 1700's that sits atop the Western branch of the Cooper River nestled amongst groves of live oaks. The venue is a natural showcase for all forms of wildlife including beautiful flora, bald eagles, deer, owls, foxes and many other friends only nature can host. Conveniently located near the Francis Marion Forest, adjacent to Bonneau Ferry, 40 minutes to Mt. Pleasant, 30 minutes to McClellanville, 50 minutes to downtown Charleston, Venue 1696 @ Rice Hope is truly a one of a kind gem that surrounds herself in all of nature's glory.

Ans- No way Jose !Do you allow artificial flowers ?Ans~ Yes but all flower pedals on the grounds must be natural.How long have you be doing wedding ?Ans~ Were the 3rd family that been doing wedding at Rice Hope since the Inn was renovated in 1975. Personally, the Edens family has been doing it for the last 25 years. The Inn is under renovation again however the grounds and parts of the house are available for weddings through Venue 1696.
